Wen Ning looked a little surprised by the sudden arrangement, but nodded in agreement. He couldn't say no to his wife wanting to spend time with her father especially after this had been her first time away from her family. This would be his first time interacting with the Empress. He was a little nervous and felt horribly unprepared for this.
Behind him Wen Zhuliu had noted that his brother had finally glanced their way. He continued to act as if he didn't know the other was around. As the others began to depart he took it as his cue to head toward his assigned room. He had a feeling it would be located among the servants, but sought to check in about it. He believed that it wasn't appropriate that he stay at the manor assigned for the newlyweds.
Wen Ning moved to go follow the Empress after bowing to the Emperor and kissing his wife. It didn't dawn on him till later if it was considered to appropriate to kiss his wife in public. It had been an unconcious motion.
At least the fresh air would probably help wake him up a bit. He did enjoy the gardens at the palace.
